Purchased July 2007

Last year I bought a five year old coloured gelding called “Alroy” (now called Ollie.)
I went to Ride Irish looking for a horse to carry on from my previous pony who I
was competing in pony club team show jumping and eventing. I tried out a few
horses first then Ollie. Having been told that he was too green for what we were
looking for we were optimistic and tried him anyway. We then immediately
decided he was the one!
In the last year, we put the jumping to one side as we knew he could jump as high
as the sky, and have been working on the schooling. He has been proving very
trainable and is coming on very well. We have just started going to pony club
rallies and he is being a very good boy. Ollie has the manners of a gentleman,
just as we were told, and is great to hack out and is not scared of anything. Although I was not intending to spend a year on schooling my new horse I still wouldn’t change Ollie for the World! Overall I thought that Ride Irish have excellent facilities and there were no high pressure sales, we were left to play with Ollie on our own and make our minds up. I would strongly recommend Ride Irish. Lauren Rixon, 14

Hi Chuck, Just an update on the 15.1hh dark bay mare (Sweetie) now known as Magic brought in December 06. She is doing very well winning the last ode we did at Ardingly and coming second at the last hunter trial she did, there are many more but too many to mention. At the moment seem to be coming away with red rosettes nearly every time. I have done a lot of dressage on her over the winter doing a lot of prelim tests and now I am planning on moving her onto Novice. I have done loads on her and am extremely pleased with her. She is exactly what I wanted. My instructor comments on the bond and trust she has in me. I would like to again thank you for such a fab little star. Thanks, Sophie .

Poppet is a much admired pony, who is a star for both my children. Although only five years old she completed in Pony Club area dressage this year with my 10 year old daughter and my 9 year old daughter is currently taking her Pony Club eventing and BSJA, all very successfully. I cannot say enough how wonderful this pony is, her temperament is fatastic and everybody who meets her loves her! Thanks very much Chuck for finding her. - Sally Witts

This August I bought a 16hh 5yr old chestnut gelding from Ride Irish. Having had a successful and enjoyable past two years eventing and showjumping ponies I was really looking for a potential top class event horse to take me through Juniors and beyond. 'Danny' is brilliant and has the ability to be the horse I wanted. Everyone at Ride Irish was helpful, the trial facilities are excellent - being able to jump out of the arena over the XC fences was perfect. There was a lovely selection of quality young horses so I could try and chose the right horse for me. Emily du Luart

After more than 3 months travelling around the country looking for a gentleman who could compete at PC & RC and safely take me or any of my 3 teenage daughters hunting I found “Splash” at Ride Irish. Paula let me and my girls try 3 horses just to make sure we were absolutely sure. Although only 6 years old, he is the nicest horse on the planet – always wants to please no matter what you ask but talented enough to take any of my girls on to PC teams, but sensible and completely easy to handle in every way. After just 6 weeks we are already out competing and this weekend he was 3rd out of more than 100 hunter trail entries. I only wish I knew his breeding so we could buy his younger brother!

Purchased June 2007
I had been looking for the right horse to buy for my fourteen year old daughter for about 6 months. I had been looking at the "types" Ride Irish advertised on the internet but was reluctant to make the long journey from Somerset to West Sussex. However, one grey mare aged 8, Mali, caught my eye and in June 2007 I took a friend with me to stop me getting carried away. On arriving at the yard, it turned out to be a no pressure sell with excellent trial facilities. We really liked the mare - she was easily the best I'd sat on after having looked at about 10 horses previously - so I put my deposit down there and then and she arrived in Somerset after a 5 star vetting, which she passed with flying colours, a week later. She has a lovely calm temperament and is always keen to do her best. Her dressage is brilliant and she has been very well schooled on the flat. She has been a bit green jumping but my daughter took her to senior PC camp about a month after having her and they have both begun to work together as a team. They came second in their first one day event - only 2'3" but the horse is a long term project and we are not rushing her. The mare is always admired wherever she goes and I have no hesitation in telling people about the Ride Irish website and say they are more than worth a look at. - Sophy McIntosh
