Hi Chuck, I don t know if you remember us but we came down from Lancashire last December to purchase a new hunter for my husband Martin. We bought Wizard a dapple grey 6 year old gelding 16 hh (Crispy Bits on his passport) We spent the morning with you trying several horses, all of which were beautiful animals and just as descibed in the adverts.

We obviously chose Wizard - or Crispy as we now call him. I would like to share with you that Crispy is amazing and a much valued member of our stables. Since we have bought him, I can honestly say this horse has never stopped at a single fence. He is bold, sure footed and sane and sensible. He hunts in a happy mouth and he crosses any country safely and in style. He is always admired everytime out and has also been field master on occassion.

Thank you so much for this lovely horse, you did a wonderful job matching us up with him. Attached photo of them taken a couple of weeks ago.
Many thanks, Vicky and Martin Kirby.

Having bought ‘Mozart’ roughly a year and a half ago, I have been exceedingly pleased with his progress and development. He was sold to us as an easy-to-do, vice-free horse, who was mature for his age and the right match for my ability as a rider. He is a great little hunter, safe, reliable, bold and keen! He is easy to do and is loved all-round. He has been much admired both in working hunter classes and out in the field, this season he has been going very nicely and we have formed a great bond. He is a straightforward, lovely all-rounder who has dealt with all the constant moving about I do, and has fulfilled all his requirements with flying colours. Thank you Chuck and Gavin!

Hi Chuck, I just wanted to let you know how pleased i am with my purchase, Murphy aka Smurf. Having looked at a few horses prior to purchasing Smurf and visited a few 'importers', I found Ride Irish to be laid back with no hard sell - you could pick out the horses you were interested in, with no pressure to buy and use of great trial facilities. It was nice to have a good selection of quality horses all on one site. Smurf was the only one of the 'big/grey/irish' variety that fitted my budget at the time, and i really couldnt be happier with him.

He has grown immensely since purchasing him, and will no doubt continue to do so for another year or two to come - and standing at 17hh at 4 - he is sure to be a big boy, but he is a sweetheart. Although not the friendliest in the stable (food is his ultimate priority) he is a joy to ride and having spent a few months getting to know him, getting him fit and 'out and about', i am now looking forward to a summer of no-pressure competition with the aim of affiliating him BE/BD and BSJA come autumn, and cannot wait out get him out hunting.

He is an easy to do horse, laid back, nicely put together with a 'keen' jump and great attitude to everything i face him with, and for a 4yo is is very level headed and intelligent.

I would strongly recommend a visit to Ride Irish - if its a quality Irish horse you want, you are sure to find something that will fit the bill. I will be heading your way when its time for my next purchase. Many thanks for such a pleasurable and easy purchase.

In January I bought Danny known as "Colour Me Danny" a 15.2 coloured gelding from Ride Irish, he is the most fantastic horse ever!!!!

Chuck told me he was a well balanced all rounder and although only five, he rode like a ten year old, his words could not have been more true. We took him to his first show jumping competition at Crofton Manor where there were at least 50 in each class, he came 4th in the 2ft9 and 1st in the 3ft.

In April I took him on a 10 mile sponsored ride, he jumped everything. In May I took him Cross Country schooling with the Riding Club and he was brilliant - he jumped ditches, in and out of water complexes, in and out of the (dreaded by most) bomb hole and over skinnies, there wasn't a jump he would not do. We actually had to lead older horses over several jumps.

This week (end May) I have just had the most fantastic time at a three day camp with the riding club. Danny did not put a foot wrong, he jumped everything I asked him to and had perfect manners at all times. He loads and will stand at the trailer perfectly still while I tack up etc, he really is a pleasure to own.

Thanks Chuck for matching me up with Danny, he really is a horse in a million!!!

Last year I bought a five year old coloured gelding called “Alroy” (now called Ollie.) I went to Ride Irish looking for a horse to carry on from my previous pony who I was competing in pony club team show jumping and eventing. I tried out a few horses first then Ollie. Having been told that he was too green for what we were looking for we were optimistic and tried him anyway. We then immediately decided he was the one!

In the last year, we put the jumping to one side as we knew he could jump as high as the sky, and have been working on the schooling. He has been proving very trainable and is coming on very well. We have just started going to pony club rallies and he is being a very good boy. Ollie has the manners of a gentleman, just as we were told, and is great to hack out and is not scared of anything. Although I was not intending to spend a year on schooling my new horse I still wouldn’t change Ollie for the World! Overall I thought that Ride Irish have excellent facilities and there were no high pressure sales, we were left to play with Ollie on our own and make our minds up. I would strongly recommend Ride Irish. Lauren Rixon, 14

Hi Chuck, Just an update on the 15.1hh dark bay mare (Sweetie) now known as Magic brought in December 06. She is doing very well winning the last ode we did at Ardingly and coming second at the last hunter trial she did, there are many more but too many to mention. At the moment seem to be coming away with red rosettes nearly every time. I have done a lot of dressage on her over the winter doing a lot of prelim tests and now I am planning on moving her onto Novice. I have done loads on her and am extremely pleased with her. She is exactly what I wanted. My instructor comments on the bond and trust she has in me. I would like to again thank you for such a fab little star. Thanks, Sophie.

Poppet is a much admired pony, who is a star for both my children. Although only five years old she completed in Pony Club area dressage this year with my 10 year old daughter and my 9 year old daughter is currently taking her Pony Club eventing and BSJA, all very successfully. I cannot say enough how wonderful this pony is, her temperament is fatastic and everybody who meets her loves her! Thanks very much Chuck for finding her.

Purchased August 2007
This August I bought a 16hh 5yr old chestnut gelding from Ride Irish. Having had a successful and enjoyable past two years eventing and showjumping ponies I was really looking for a potential top class event horse to take me through Juniors and beyond. 'Danny' is brilliant and has the ability to be the horse I wanted. Everyone at Ride Irish was helpful, the trial facilities are excellent - being able to jump out of the arena over the XC fences was perfect. There was a lovely selection of quality young horses so I could try and chose the right horse for me.

After more than 3 months travelling around the country looking for a gentleman who could compete at PC & RC and safely take me or any of my 3 teenage daughters hunting I found “Splash” at Ride Irish. Paula let me and my girls try 3 horses just to make sure we were absolutely sure. Although only 6 years old, he is the nicest horse on the planet – always wants to please no matter what you ask but talented enough to take any of my girls on to PC teams, but sensible and completely easy to handle in every way. After just 6 weeks we are already out competing and this weekend he was 3rd out of more than 100 hunter trail entries. I only wish I knew his breeding so we could buy his younger brother!

Purchased June 2007
I had been looking for the right horse to buy for my fourteen year old daughter for about 6 months. I had been looking at the "types" Ride Irish advertised on the internet but was reluctant to make the long journey from Somerset to West Sussex. However, one grey mare aged 8, Mali, caught my eye and in June 2007 I took a friend with me to stop me getting carried away. On arriving at the yard, it turned out to be a no pressure sell with excellent trial facilities. We really liked the mare - she was easily the best I'd sat on after having looked at about 10 horses previously - so I put my deposit down there and then and she arrived in Somerset after a 5 star vetting, which she passed with flying colours, a week later. She has a lovely calm temperament and is always keen to do her best. Her dressage is brilliant and she has been very well schooled on the flat. She has been a bit green jumping but my daughter took her to senior PC camp about a month after having her and they have both begun to work together as a team. They came second in their first one day event - only 2'3" but the horse is a long term project and we are not rushing her. The mare is always admired wherever she goes and I have no hesitation in telling people about the Ride Irish website and say they are more than worth a look at.
